Kontent.ai, a modular content management system (CMS), received a $40 million investment from Expedition Growth Capital, enabling the company to operate independently from its parent company. Prior to the funding, Kontent.ai functioned as a business unit within Kentico, a digital experience platform that combines content management, digital marketing and commerce.
Kontent.ai’s platform is designed to help organizations unify, organize and manage content in a cloud-based repository. Key features include:
- An intuitive authoring experience that enables simultaneous, collaborative work across every phase of the content lifecycle;
- The ability to plan, create and review content with streamlined workflows and approvals; and
- Enabling editors to focus on the content they want without being slowed down by structural design choices on how and where that content will be displayed.
Additionally, the company plans to leverage the investment to incorporate composable AI into its platform, which includes applying machine learning capabilities to specific areas and distributing it to support particular teams, workflows, use cases or delivery channels.
“With this investment into Kontent.ai, now as its own company, we’re excited to expand our global footprint, helping enterprise teams scale their content operations, make the most of machine learning and AI and deliver exceptional digital experiences,” said Bart Omlo, CEO of Kontent.ai, in a statement. “With Kontent.ai’s modular content platform, we push the boundaries of content management to give our customers the competitive edge.”
